Rock Climbing

This TikToker has an important point to share about strap-ons

Apparently, there are some folks out there who remain confused on the topic of lesbian intimacy. But don’t worry: TikTok is here to help, as always.

One of the finest sapphic creators to follow for skits, tips, tricks, and WLW culture is @Poppylaur, who performed a very important public service last week when she provided insight into a question that’s baffled onlookers for years. Namely: strap-ons. What’s the story there?

Now because it’s TikTok, this creator had to choose her language carefully. Talking about how many sapphics love to “rock climb” using a “harness,” she explained that some people love it, while others prefer to “free-hand it.”

“Either way,” she explains, “it’s totally fine and normal.” It’s all about what an individual prefers when it comes down to it.

“I think the biggest misconception,” Poppylaur goes on to say, “is ‘well if you’re rock-climbing with a harness, why don’t you just use the real thing’?”

Queer women are all too used to coming up against this particular question, much to everyone’s annoyance. And while it’s true that you never have to answer anyone who asks you that, this creator spelled it out plainly for everyone who’s ever wondered why lesbians who enjoy strap-ons don’t just “rock climb” with a man.

“Men are not just that particular piece,” she explains, “and a woman using a rock-climbing harness doesn’t magically become a man.” Similar logic applies to women who date butch partners. “Aesthetics do not equal gender identity,” she says, “and a desire to use a harness sometimes does not equate to being attracted to men.”

There you have it, in case there was any confusion: what sapphics do in the bedroom, or on the mountaintop, is first of all not your business, and secondly 100% up to them and how like to practice their…outdoor fun. So go out there and enjoy the wonders of the natural world, why don’t you!
