If Don Draper taught us anything, it’s that when it comes to advertising, there’s often a very fine line between raunchy pandering and effective marketing. In other words, sex sells! And Speedo, a brand with a markedly gay following, perhaps knows this better than anyone.

Witness their recent ad, posted before the Olympic games kicked off and now more relevant than ever. Urging the country to “go full Speedo,” the ad shows a variety of gorgeous dad bods as they get comically disrobed to reveal the Speedos underneath. Whoever came up with this? A genius!

Needless to say, this is prime gay content.

After Gayest Episode Ever cohost Drew Mackie shared this work of queer art on X, the gays could not get enough. A lawn mower that removes the pants off suburban dads with fantastic dad bods? Now THAT’S the kind of content we could use more of in this world!

As Mackie points out, there’s something of a trend afoot currently concerning dad bod representation. And we love to see it!

Consider the recent saga of Bob the Cap Catcher—that’s a man who’s definitely ready to go full Speedo.

And while looking into this intriguing, deeply serious trend, I discovered that there is, in fact, an entire Instagram account dedicated to dads in Speedos. Its mission? “Promote swim briefs for dads.” Now that’s a political slogan I can fully get behind.
