Since being released from the Bond franchise, Daniel Craig has been having the absolute time of his life. He’s modeling men’s fashions like a champ, growing out his hair, and dishing on the “full-on” gay sex scenes he’s enjoying with Drew Starkey in Luca Guadagnino’s forthcoming film Queer.

But is he also…you know…trying to tell us something? The same thing he’s been trying to tell us for years? Well, yes and no.

A recent tweet regarding an old article from The Independent has many a gay spidey sense tingling, but there’s a little bit more to the story than one might think on first glance.

Now without any context, you might assume that these are Craig’s words. However, the screenshot is from a 2022 article from The Independent in which the author is somewhat paraphrasing an older quote from Craig about sexuality.

Now obviously, Craig has been married to Rachel Weisz—she of the Disobedience spit scene—since 2011. But in our minds and hearts, they’re both bisexual.

It’s true that both Weisz and Craig have seemingly gone out of their way to play queer roles—Weisz in Disobedience and The Favourite, Craig in Knives Out, Glass Onion and that Francis Bacon biopic. But it’s possible that that’s just Hollywood.

Still, in our hearts, they’re both bisexual. And the heart never lies. Except when it does.

We’d love for it to be true, but sadly we do not know if it is, in fact, true. Which describes so much of Twitter right now.

However Craig actually identifies, one thing remains true: he’s a legend, an icon, and good Lord can he pull off a sweater!
