Bridgerton Season 4 is coming, and fans are eager to see what happens next in the hit drama. Queer fans may especially rejoice after the announcement of the season’s main character—none other than Benedict Bridgerton.

“Benedict’s fluidity is something we’ve been talking about from Season 1, which is why I think viewers have picked up on it,” showrunner Jess Brownell said to the LA Times. “We wanted to do that storyline justice, and it felt like season three was a good place to do that to make sense of some of the threads we’ve seen with him before.”

Benedict, played by Luke Thompson, stole the show in prior seasons, especially this past season, when it was revealed that he’s bisexual. He flirted with Paul Suarez and Lady Tilley Arnold, and after a lengthy conversation with Eloise, kissed both, culminating in a spicy threesome.

Benedict is also repeatedly described as “bohemian” and a “long-time bachelor” ever since Season 1, which Brownell alluded to.

This change in the series’ course was announced on Instagram, where Netflix said, “It has been brought to this author’s attention that perhaps it is time to unmask the newest suitor of the marriage mart… Benedict Bridgerton’s story is coming next season.”

Whatever bisexual adventures the show’s next season brings, we’ll stay ready.
