For as long as I’ve been alive, Dune and Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile actor Javier Bardem has been a certified snacc. After acting in Spanish dramas throughout the 90s and early 2000s, he busted onto the American scene in the 2007 classic No Country for Old Men, sporting a dead-eyed gaze and a f*ck-a** bob that the culture simply wasn’t ready for. And even though the takeaway of that movie was definitely not supposed to be “wow, that guy is hot,” can you blame us for coming away with that impression? And then there was his blonde moment in Skyfall. Enough said.

The only thing hotter than an Anton Chigurh-era Bardem, however, is the Bardem of our current era. At 55, the seasoned actor is aging like fine wine, and his wife Penelope Cruz recently took some pics to prove it.

As we can see, Bardem is simply getting hotter by the minute, and he has the rippling back muscles to prove it.

Penelope, of course, is not the only one who can appreciate the seductive charms of Bardem in his zaddy era.

I think these photos are bringing up questions in all of us. Big, hard, heavy, hot questions.

Penelope is really doing the gays a service with this series.

Cruz and Bardem met on the set of the 1992 Bigas Luna film Jámon Jámon, and sparks instantly flew. Is it cursed that they “reconnected romantically” on a Woody Allen film? Yes, obviously. But listen. True love conquers all.

And just in case you needed a reminder that our man is an ally, let’s all fondly recall the time he basically told the church to f*ck off.

We love a man who can stand up for what’s right, flexing his impressive back muscles in the process. Javier, we salute you!
