If you’re like me, you probably go about your day forgetting that Megyn Kelly exists — until she does or says something on her daytime TV show that helps you remember: “Oh, yes, she’s still someone with a huge platform!”
Today, the NBC star and former Fox News anchor decided to enter the conversation about cis actors in trans roles by discussing Scarlett Johansson’s controversial casting as a trans man in the upcoming film Rub & Tug.
Kelly assembled a panel that really seemed ready to tackle the topic. The panel included fellow NBC anchor Craig Melvin, as well as — :checks notes: — American Ninja Warrior hosts Akbar Gbaja-Biamila and Matt Iseman.

Here’s a quick summary of what each person had to say!
Megyn Kelly: Devil’s advocate? … Devil’s advocate! … Devil’s advocate?!
Akbar Gbaja-Biamila: It’s acting! I really liked Coming to America and White Chicks! This is the same as White Chicks!
Craig Melvin: Weren’t they playing black men who were playing white women?
Matt Iseman: Didn’t Scarlett Johansson just play an Asian person in a movie and the film failed?
AGB: Jeffrey Tambor won a Golden Globe.
MK: Tom Hanks played a gay guy and the gays loved it!
AGB: Felicity Huffman was so good in Transamerica!
MI: Scarlett Johansson movies make money.
Wow, what a truly fruitful discussion.
