Seems Elon Musk isn’t coping well with the failure of his public attack on his trans daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson. Wilson read him for filth and his ex-partner Grimes put out a short but unequivocal statement of support. Now Musk has quietly unfollowed Grimes.

On Friday, a few days after Musk went on an anti-trans rant about his daughter on the Jordan Peterson podcast, Grimes posted to X/Twitter, “I love and am forever endlessly proud of Vivian.” Wilson shared a screenshot of the post on Threads with a heart emoji.

Within the post, Grimes also responded to a commentator using the Bible as an excuse for transphobia. “God gave us hands to build cathedrals, rockets to the moon,” she wrote. “It’s clearly divine to make use of gods greatest gift to humanity, which is creativity.”

The following day, Musk unfollowed Grimes, as spotted by Big Tech Alert—a bot account that shares updates on the activities of tech executives on X/Twitter.

Musk previously unfollowed Grimes in January 2023, though the reason then wasn’t clear. After re-following her at some point, he unfollowed her again in March after she announced that she was seeing someone new.

Musk and Grimes originally announced their relationship in 2018 and had three children together before their split in 2021. In October 2023, Grimes sued Musk for parental rights.

During a 2023 interview, Grimes recalled the last time she addressed Musk’s growing transphobia. “We had a big, long conversation,” she said. “I was like: ‘I want to dissect why you’re so stressed about this.’

“And it came down to pretty much every way that you transition can cause fertility issues,” she continued. “I was like, OK, you don’t hate trans people, you hate woke culture. I get that it can be annoying, and you have concerns about the fertility thing. So let’s figure it out, because there’s a lot of fertility tech that could be innovated that would help trans people have kids, which would be great and would solve a lot of problems. He’s just on Twitter, and he’s unhappy with woke people, and the arguments happened.”

Back then, she seemed much more defensive of Musk, even going so far as to repeat his false claim that transition leads to infertility. She may not be well educated on trans healthcare, but at least Grimes has given a much stronger statement against Musk’s nonsense this time around.
