At least, that’s what some extremely online people choose to believe. The rest of us just call it fashion.

We saw this energy at play earlier this year, when John Cena’s memorable Oscars appearance, coupled with a few cheeky behind-the-scenes photos, got folks talking.

Now the same people are convinced that Lil Nas X is undergoing a similar “humiliation ritual” at the hands of Hollywood’s elite. When a poster known simply by the handle “Isaac’s Army” dug up a video of the “Montero” singer looking absolutely stunning in a glittery lavender off-the-shoulder jumpsuit at the 2020 VMAs, talk of Hollywood’s nonexistent “humiliation rituals” came back to the fore in the goofiest way possible.

Because isn’t the logical explanation just that Lil Nas X loves fashion and always gives us amazing lewks?

What’s humiliating about wearing incredible couture and looking stunning on a red carpet? I’m not seeing it…

Even Lil Nas X himself had to enter the chat to point out how random and weird this take is.

If it’s humiliating to be a gorgeous gay man who can wear the hell out of a glittery purple suit-dress, Lil Nas X is guilty as charged I guess?

All these “humiliation rituals” have one thing in common: they seem to happen exclusively to hot men who look amazing in dresses.

Let’s not forget that this stunning fit got hate even back in 2020, despite being one of the most memorable red carpet looks of that year.

If there’s a humiliation ritual cult in Hollywood, it’s almost definitely staying far away from Lil Nas X, who stays looking immaculate at every photo op.
