This is a historic occasion: thee Lady Gaga has blessed us with her latest album-cum-Joker: Folie à Deux soundtrack, and according to the gays, it’s a Folie à Doozy.

The companion album, aka LG6.5, features Gaga’s takes on jazz standards popularized by legendary crooners like Judy Garland and Frank Sinatra. And while it’s not a huge departure from Gaga’s “Duets” album with the late Tony Bennet, it’s still giving folks pause. We knew the upcoming Joker sequel was going to be something of a jukebox musical, but we weren’t quite prepared for this level of scatting.

Obviously this is the perfect occasion to use the timeless Maya Erskine scatting meme from PEN15.

And we can’t forget the American Idol moment that brought us these quizzical Simon Cowell expressions…

It’s making us wonder exactly how campy this movie is going to be. On a level of 0 to Divine, it’s promising to be a Patti LuPone in Anything Goes level camp-quake.

But listen, Lady Gaga is an icon and even when she hands us a certified flopperooni, we can be counted upon to show up with our Fosse necks in full force.

You simply can’t keep a good diva down!

If she wants us to bring back Vaudeville, by God we will bring it back!

If she’s serving us Judy, we are guaranteed to show up.

Wherever Mother Monster wants to take us, we will follow!

We may not be any closer to getting LG7, but perhaps that’s for the best. 2024 has already given us some great pop, and as we inch nearer to the election, easy listening is sounding precisely right for our night.
