Every supervillain has an origin story, and it usually has something to do with their arch nemesis, the superhero whose commitment to good matches the villain’s obsession with evil. The Joker fell into a vat of acid that transformed him from The Red Hood into a maniacal clown bent on Gotham’s destruction. Lex Luthor endured poverty and abuse at early age, and vowed to come into power at all costs. And Donald Trump, well,…he’s allegedly been gay for Joe Biden this whole time.

I mean, not really. At least, not as far as any of us know. But one quote from a recent Washington Post article is giving us pause…

Is it true? Is Trump mad at Biden leaving the race because now he doesn’t have anyone to homoerotically debate onstage? I mean, anything is possible.

Honestly, the Batman/Joker parallels feel weirdly apt. For Trump, perhaps it’s not so much about ruling Gotham as it is about being a flamboyant heel committed to putting on a good show.

Then again, maybe it’s just a case of Biden’s ousting giving Trump an uncomfortable glimpse of his own future in politics…

Whatever Trump actually feels about his ex (rival), one thing is for certain: Biden’s example was a reminder to Trump that his days in politics are numbered. And if Bacongate is any indication, his time on the national stage might be coming to a close much sooner than he thinks.
