Black trans singer, actress, songwriter, and activist Mila Jam just revealed on Instagram that she voiced and gave her likeness to the first Black trans woma playable character in a Triple-A video game.

“I had to go for a walk because I just don’t like it when Playstation wants to turn me into the baddest, knife-wielding assassin in all of the land. That’s right, yours truly as freegunner Bazz in PlayStation’s new multiplayer video game Concord. It’s out now,” she said in an Instagram post.

Her playable character, Bazz, appears in the newest Sony Interactive Entertainment game Concord, set in the wider Concord galaxy. The game puts players in a first-person view of characters as they battle it out in teams, building up a detailed storyline.

Bazz is described as “bold on the battlefield and in her fashion game,” wielding knives and running around the battlefield.

Jam has been having a wildly successful career as of late, including performing as the first trans artist at the Democratic National Convention, performing at Chicago Pride, and working on an upcoming album.

She said in an interview with Out, “As a marginalized person of color and someone in the queer community, I’m always told that I can’t, I shouldn’t, I’m not supposed to be where I am,” she reflects. “But I just never believe that to be true.”

“I am, I should, I will, and I do.”
