British singer Adele has discovered Chappel Roan and become an instant fan. Adele is currently performing a string of shows in a purpose-built, outdoor venue in Munich, Germany. At a concert last night, she informed the audience that she’s only recently discovered Chappell Roan.

“Chappell Roan …I heard a song a little while ago at my birthday and I loved it,” said Adele (born May 5, 1988). “It was one of my friend’s playlists. And then I went down a rabbit hole on Monday, all day long. She is spectacular. And it turns out she’s not just got one song. She’s got like seven f**king brilliant songs!

“I think she’s absolutely amazing. I’m very excited for her … that’s all I’ve done this week. Discover Chappell Roan.”

Many fans welcomed the endorsement.

Like in the US, Chappell Roan has proved a slow-burning success in the UK. Her 2023 album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, finally climbed to the top of the UK album charts this week after 17 weeks on the chart. It also rose to a new peak position of 3 on the Billboard album chart back home.

Setting fire to the rain

From social media posts, it looks like Adele’s concert last night was hit by heavy rain. However, the show continued and, for many attendees, the weather conditions only added additional drama.

Adele’s European concerts take place in a purpose-built, 80,000-seat arena at Messe München in Munich. It’s her second concert residency following her run in Las Vegas. The shows began August 2 and are set to conclude at the end of the month, with two shows per week scheduled.
