Omar Apollo has dismissed claims that he has any “beef” with fellow queer singer Troye Sivan. The reaction from many of his fans appears to be, “Who said you did?”

Apollo, 27, who released his new album God Said No a couple of weeks ago, posted on X yesterday.

He said, “The fact yall think i have beef with Troye Sivan is hilarious, he met my dad and i met his mom at the last show we played together. very sweet woman. i get it tho, negativity is appealing i expect nothing less on this app lol he’s always been a great friend.”

The tweet left many people scratching their heads.

“Delivering art”

However, others suggest that it dates back to a tweet Apollo posted, and then deleted, at the end of June.

Commenting on his new album back then, Apollo said, “God Said No is out tonight 9pm! This is not loose booty hole music or popper music. There is SOME feel good tracks but we’re delivering art today. I already see a few twinks complaining, don’t listen and seek to be therapized elsewhere.”

Some Troye Sivan fans took this as a shady comment toward their idol. Sivan released a single called “Rush” last year, inspired by the name of a well-known poppers brand. Sivan has also made it clear his latest album, Something To Give Each Other, lyrically explores the joys of hooking up with men for one-night stands.

It appears that Apollo’s reassurance about no beef with Sivan did not appease everyone.

For the record, Sivan and Apollo gave a joint interview to VMan in February of this year in which they discussed their careers and admiration for one another.

Poppers

In a later tweet, suggesting he has no issue with poppers, Apollo posted a photo in which he appeared to be inhaling from a small bottle. It mentioned his song “Tamagotchi”, which was released a couple of years ago. It had lust-filled lyrics about wanting to get his hands on someone else’s body.

Apollo is currently in Australia (where Sivan spent most of his youth) promoting his God Said No album. God Said No made its debut at 56 on the US Billboard album chart, and at number 11 in Australia.
