Dancing with the Stars just gave the gays their latest crush

Dancing with the Stars seems tailor-made for the gays. C-list celebrities dancing their hearts out? A snarky judging panel? Real Housewives and convicted conwomen learning to tango? What more could a fan want?

One of the celebrities on the currently airing 33rd season may have just answered that question. His name is Danny Amendola, and a viral TikTok is showing off all the assets he brings to the Dancing with the Stars stage.

TikToker Edwin (@edwinschatspop) took to the app to school everyone on why they should be rooting for Amendola on the show. “In honor of Dancing with the Stars premiering tonight, I felt like celebrating Danny Amendola,” they said. “Just a little bit. Make of this photo choice what you will.”

The photo choice in question? Amendola on the football field, lunging forward with his jockstrap visible through his pants.

“This is just an appreciation post for Danny Amendola, ‘cause he’s a great footballer,” Edwin continued, before flipping to another photo of Amendola with his jock on full display. “Yeah, we’ll just go along with that. He was a great footballer.”

For the uninitiated, Amendola is a retired football player who won two Super Bowls with the New England Patriots. He also played for the Cowboys, the Eagles, the Dolphins, the Lions, and the Texans. He now works in a coaching position for the Las Vegas Raiders — and as a part-time ballroom dancer, naturally.

“Anyway, if you’re watching Dancing with the Stars tonight like I will be, vote for Danny — and Witney!” Edwin continued, shouting out Amendola’s partner Witney Carson. “Witney is my favorite of all the pros. I love her so much. Danny and Witney! Vote for them!” 

“This whole video just feels inappropriate,” Edwin concluded. We can’t imagine why.
