After an agonizing wait, horror icons the Boulet Brothers are finally back with a new season of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, premiering on October 1 on Shudder and AMC+.

The sixth season of the popular drag competition will include both returns to form and exciting new twists, both of which have Dragula fans counting down the days to spooky season. According to a press release, the 10-episode season will kick off with a special 90-minute premiere episode, and the season will feature expanded on-location challenges, which have been fan favorites in seasons past — who could forget the old west ghost town from Season 2?

The season will also feature a challenge inspired by video game franchise Dead by Daylight, with the winner getting a custom skin in the game alongside the Boulet Brothers themselves.

That mix of old and new extends to the line-up of guest judges, too. New faces include two icons from the Child’s Play franchise: creator Don Mancini and the Bride of Chucky herself, Jennifer Tilly. RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Violet Chachki will also take a seat on the panel, along with the latest Dragula winner Niohuru X. Meanwhile, returning favorites include Late Night With The Devil star David Dastmalchian, writer/director Mike Flanagan, horror historian Tananarive Due, Drag Race star Alaska, and Dragula winner Landon Cider.

“This season, we’re pushing the boundaries of what horror and drag can be,” said Dracmorda Boulet. “Expect the unexpected, because we’re dragging our monsters deeper into the darkness than ever before.”

“Each season we strive to unearth the most terrifying and innovative talent,” added Swanthua Boulet. “This year, the competition is deadlier, the challenges are more brutal, the artistry is unmatched, and the fear is real.”

Fans on Reddit were beyond hyped for the announcement. “We finally have the premier date! And off site location challenges! And more big name judges! And Niohuru X is back to judge! Ugh – this is everything that I’ve been waiting for,” wrote one excited fan.

The line-up of guest judges also had folks speculating on what themed challenges the drag monsters might face: “We’re definitely getting a Chucky themed challenge,” mused one commenter, given the appearances from Mancini and Tilly.

All will be revealed come October 1, when the premiere episode of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula releases on Shudder and AMC+, with later episodes releasing weekly on Tuesdays.
