We’ve been on the Barron Trump watch for a while now, and let me tell you, nothing we’ve heard about the newest Trump model is anything less than disturbing. After it was announced that he would attend NYU this year, our hopes rose just slightly. Perhaps, we thought, he’ll meet a nice blue-haired, they/them Capulet and denounce his father as a shameful Montague before retreating to the hills of Padua to start a crypto cult. That was the best case scenario, but it looks like it’s not about to happen any time soon.

What is going to happen, predictably enough, is that Barron is most likely going to follow in his failing father’s footsteps. In some ways this is the fate of all sons, whether they like it or not. But Barron seems to be leaning deeply into his father’s gross gold-plated ways if a recent quote is anything to judge by.

According to a guest at a private Mar-a-Lago party allegedly hosted by Barron, when the conversation came to upbringing and personal struggles, Barron had a hard time relating to the common folk. “People were saying their dad came from a trailer home,” the guest explained. “Everyone was telling their sob story, and Barron’s like, ‘yeah, same here, I mean, I was born in the penthouse of a building all the way up top.'”

Interesting…but surely he regretted his comment, right? Surely he didn’t…double down on it?

“He then talked about being fed by a silver spoon, and asked, ‘who would ever eat food with a silver spoon? Mine was gold.‘”

I guess you can’t expect too much from the son of a man who loves to talk about golden toilets and golden showers.

Operation bully Barron into having some sense of shame and decency is now underway.

Going to be? I think that ship has sailed.

The Joffrey Baratheon comparisons are all too apt.

Hopefully once he’s completed a full term at NYU he’ll be thinking less about golden spoons and more about golden ear gauges, but we’re not holding our breath.
