In a move that smacks of deranged desperation, Donald Trump has posted a fake, AI-generated image of Taylor Swift to his Truth Social account in a bid to persuade people he has her endorsement.

Trump reposted images that claimed to show Swifties throwing their support behind Trump, and that the “Shake It Off” singer was endorsing him.

“I accept!” Trump captioned the images. One is an AI-generated image of Swift in an Uncle Sam outfit.

In a later post, he reshared a video from an influencer who also claimed Swifties are “waking up” and “rallying for Trump.”

Swifties4Kamala

According to Time, at least one of the images in Trump’s post is real. Nineteen-year-old Jenna Piwowarczyk wore a homemade ‘Swifties for Trump’ T-shirt to one of his rallies a few weeks ago. However, there is no evidence that a large number of Swift fans support the former President.

In fact, an unofficial ‘Swifties 4 Kamala’ account on TikTok has gained over 110,000 followers since it was launched recently.

Taylor Swift has never endorsed Donald Trump.

In 2020, she publicly supported Joe Biden. She has yet to endorse any candidate this year but it’s doubtful she would endorse Trump.

In another social media post on Truth Social and his official X account (which he’s using regularly again since his online chat with Elon Musk last week), Trump utilized more AI images. One appears to show a figure resembling Kamala Harris at the forthcoming DNC in Chicago. A video screen shows the old USSR emblem of the hammer and sickle. Trump has repeatedly attempted to portray Harris as a communist.

Liz Cheney

Talking about Republicans and Swift, a tweet from former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney went viral over the weekend. Cheney, a moderate Republican, is demonized amongst the MAGA wing of the party for her role on the January 6 committee. She was subsequently ousted during her re-election primary in 2022.

Cheney has been a loud and consistent vocal critic of Trump. She also happened to be in London over the weekend and attended one of Taylor Swift’s concerts at Wembley Stadium. She celebrated the fact by posting a photo with her daughter and quoting some of Swift’s lyrics.

“With my daughter Elizabeth – thinking of my grandmother Marjorie – watching Taylor Swift play Wembley. Incredible,” said Cheney.

“‘Never be so kind you forget to be clever. Never be so clever you forget to be kind…Never be so polite you forget your power. Never wield such power you forget to be polite’.”

Somehow we doubt Donald Trump will take the message to heart.
