When it comes to being the butt of the very best jokes on the Internet, JD Vance is the gift that just keeps on giving. The poorly-chosen VP candidate just can’t seem to put a foot right these days: between bringing his vegetarian wife to a butcher shop and epically failing to order donuts like a normal person, he’s facing quite a bit of scrutiny, and we simply love to see it.

But there’s something else the gays are recognizing about Vance these days, something strangely familiar. As much as we love to make fun of him for having the face of one of the humanoid beavers in Hundreds of Beavers, there’s something even more terrifying the VP hopeful bears a marked resemblance to.

Uncanny is truly the word for it. Seen side by side, these photos of noted serial killer and gay clown John Wayne Gacy and Vance tell a harrowing story. When they finally get around to making Monster: The John Wayne Gacy Story, Vance is going to give John Carroll Lynch a run for his money.

But before we get too deep into this, let’s remember that there are some distinct and important differences between these brothers from another mother.

Gacy probably also knew how to order donuts without sounding like an alien. So there’s that.

They just have so much in common…the eyes, the facial structure, the forehead that’s never known a moment’s peace.

Without the beard, the resemblance is actually terrifying.

Americans, is this the man you want appearing for photo ops at family-owned frozen yogurt shops?

Obviously it’s not a crime to look like a serial killer, but considering the state of the Republican Party right now, perhaps it should be?

Both men are terrifying for vastly different reasons, but let’s be honest. If we had to choose between being alone in a room with Vance or Gacy, I think we all know which one we’d choose. At least Gacy has the distinction of being able to do a full beat.
