Eagle-eyed queer viewers were quick to spot a young man in an eye-catching T-shirt last night at the DNC. It bore the slogan, “Twinks for Kamala”.

Podcaster Matt Bernstein also shared a satirical tweet about the duo concerned.

A Twink and a Redhead

If you’re unfamiliar with them, they’re TikTokkers ‘A Twink And A Redhead’, otherwise known as friends and collaborators Grant Gibbs and Ashley Gill.

Back in December, they enjoyed a viral moment. They made a comic video in which they pretended to be a romantic couple seeking other Disney fans for swinging fun. Many took the video very seriously and didn’t realize it was a joke, especially after it was reposted on X without context.

It landed Gibbs and Gill a profile in Rolling Stone. They’ve been best friends since sixth grade. They often affectionately lampoon Disney’s adult fandom on their account, even though both enjoy Disney content themselves.

Their popularity has jumped this year and they’ve now got just under 441,000 followers on TikTok. That may have led to their attendance at the DNC. Interviewed by CNN in Chicago yesterday, Gibbs said they were attending to “make silly videos, looking hot, hoping to get young people out to vote.”

The pair have duly posted some DNC content to their account.

Benito’s subsequent video racked up millions of views on social media and predictably drew right-wing fury.
