We know that at this point, it’s a little too much to ask for people to bring logic to the table in any given scenario. In an age of AI, JD Vance couch memes, Skibidi Toilet supremacy, and general insanity, people will find a way to complain about literally anything.

Which brings us to this choice Twitter tidbit, in which a queer person decides to mock another queer person for being too sexy?

Dr. Jebra Faushay, author of a Substack called “The Woke Observer,” decided to take White House Monkeypox response team coordinator Demetre Daskalakis to task for simply being a very hot gay man.

For a post that was clearly meant to be sarcastic, it’s certainly not the own Faushay thinks it is. First of all, while Mpox is being declared a global health emergency by WHO, the US was able to limit the virus’s impact thanks to the work of early responders like Dr. Daskalakis.

He’s actually been on the frontlines of Mpox response efforts and has helped us stay safe, but of course why talk about that when you can make a weird case that someone being extraordinarily attractive means they can’t also be a scientist.

As “Queer as Folk” actor and producer/writer Peter Paige pointed out, gay men helped organize around limiting the spread of Mpox way back in 2022, so wtf is this person talking about, exactly?

Some have claimed that Dr. Jebra is simply doing a bit, but still…are these the kinds of bits we need right now? Dunking on a hot, brilliant man who can wear a Speedo like nobody’s business? This is an American hero we’re talking about!

And if you weren’t convinced, just take a gander at his magnificent Instagram…

Personally, I’d trust a hot gay man with my health any day of the week.
