Elon Musk just embarrassed himself…again. After a second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, he posted—and then shortly deleted—a post that said “And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala.”

He immediately tried to backtrack, calling it a joke.

“Well, one lesson I’ve learned is that just because I say something to a group and they laugh doesn’t mean it’s going to be all that hilarious as a post on 𝕏.”

A spokesperson for the White House condemned his comments, saying to the New York Times that it was “irresponsible.” Andrew Bates, a spokesman for the White House, said there was “no place for political violence in the United States. Violence should only be condemned, never encouraged or joked about.”

This assassination attempt is the second in the past two months on Trump. This shooter was seen on a golf course Trump was at sneaking his gun through a fence. Secret Service managed to spot him before Trump got too close.

Musk’s “joke” represents a new low for the X owner, matching previous statements where he bought into the baseless, racist pet-eating immigrants conspiracy theory, and another where he said he would impregnate Taylor Swift after she endorsed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

I guess it’s about what we can expect from someone who keeps going out of their way to discredit and shame their trans daughter.
