Lara Trump, the co-chair of the Republican National Committee and daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump, has gone viral online with her latest musical effort.

Besides her role with the RNC and as a hardline campaigner for her father-in-law, Lara Trump is also a budding musician who attempted to crack the music scene around a year ago with her version of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down”.

Her new song, “Hero” is a duet with an another aspiring hitmaker called Madeline Jaymes. The track actually appeared on streamers in May. However, an official video quietly dropped to YouTube just a few days ago. It’s blown up in the last 48 hours.

“Hero” is a tribute to firefighters. The video features Lara and Jaymes singing in a studio and on a fire escape. This jumps between staged recreations of firefighters rescuing people, and footage of real firefighters.

Lyrics include, “You’re going through the fire, and the flame’s getting higher. You’re my hero, you’re my hero.”

“You’re climbing up the ladder and the screams getting louder. You’re my hero, you’re my hero.”

Online, nobody is knocking the sentiment behind the song. Everyone knows firefighters are astoundingly courageous and deserve credit whenever possible.

However, many questioned Lara Trump’s musical ability.

Here are a few of the thousands of replies roasting her latest offering.

People were no kinder on YouTube. At the time of writing, the most popular comment beneath the video said, “After hearing this, I miss Yoko Ono.”

Given how Donald Trump is slipping behind Kamala Harris in polls in most swing states, Lara may want to put her music “career” on hold for now and focus fully on the re-election campaign.
