Yay! You're on the list!

Television has become a bold platform for queer representation over the last few decades. As we’ve struggled for equality and basic human rights, our stories have gradually made their way to the mainstream. From Will and Grace to Glee to Orange is the New Black, our favorite shows have not shied away from diversity.

But even in 2017, there’s still only so much Fox and NBC will show. And now that we’re deep into the digital age, a myriad of queer content is in the palm of our hands. Artists and creators have quit asking for permission from the big networks and have started bringing their own stories to life.

Brown Girls

This series tells the story of two young women of color. Leila is a South Asian-American writer who’s embracing her queerness. Patricia is a black musician who has issues with commitment. Their friendship is what helps them through their chaotic 20s.
